Meet one of our newest and spirited additions to the Intimation Creative team; Designer, Kathryn Davies.

Originally from Manchester, Kathryn first came to the North East to live in Newcastle, where she studied for a Graphic Design degree at Northumbria University. As a student Kathryn was awarded membership to the International Society of Typographic Designers through their student awards, an impressive achievement which Kathryn is quite rightly very proud of.

Whilst at University, Kathryn was very proactive in events management, where with the help of a fellow course member, Kathryn arranged a print exhibition and sale to help raise funds for the end of year show. This involved the arranging of 72 limited edition screen prints to be produced as well as securing a venue and ensuring the show ran smoothly on the night. Kathryn managed to raise a whopping £3,000 and continued to sell the prints via an online store for a month after the event. Kathryn told us; “arranging this type of event is definitely something I would like to do more of in the future, I really enjoyed the challenge.”

Kathryn is a designer who loves to use traditional techniques, and credits this to her level of understanding for design. In her spare time, she loves using her skills to ‘get back to basics’, participating in regular life drawing classes and creating printed images through the means of linocut and screen-printing.

Away from design, Kathryn has told us that if she ever won the lottery she’d like to own a food truck or a small cinema, a venture I’m sure she’d have looking fabulous through her extensive design know how!
